RIP Joey

So many emotions over the last few days. The world has lost a great guy. I have been thinking about writing this but every time I started to write it came out to be depressing. The last few days I have been just trying to remember good times. I want to tell you just a few things about the Joey I remember. I have been just trying to think of the many laughs we had. I just started to think back as far as I could and I remember Joey being in my AWANA Class and thought to myself “I don’t believe its been that long”. I think of dirt bike riding together down at your house before the house was there. Man if there was anyone that I knew that could ride a dirt bike it was you Joey, Riding wheelies in the power-line, joking about running over saplings with the quad to make new trails, laughing about what your dad was going to do when he found out, cause he said you ran over to many trees. Of course who could forget the HUGE hill climb. You insisted that you could make it and we all said you were crazy. You got up started your bike and up the hill you went went. We were in awe watching you make it to the top beating the challenge.
Next has to be one of the funniest stories. We hunted down at your house and you weren’t able to hunt yet but you wanted to be part of the hunt so bad. I hunted in a tree stand at the circle behind your house. There were a few shots in the valley and a few minutes later I hear the leaves rustling behind me. I slowly turn around preparing to take this deer. But its not a deer it is You (Joey) asking was that me shooting. I am even laughing now typing this. as I was trying to hunt from a stand and when the deer are moving your walking down to check so that you are part of the hunt. About an hour later we all start shooting. We all dropped deer in a matter of minutes. Here you come again to see if was us. So then you ask if we will let you drag the deer out of the woods. We say of course as its nice not to have to drag the deer. So then you say “I will be right back”. so we are waiting for you to come back into the woods with a quad or tractor. you know something that people use to drag deer. Then here you come into the woods and we are cracking up cause your on a riding mower. Who drags deer with a riding mower???? You said that was the only thing you were allowed to use while your dad wasn’t home. We still laugh about being the only ones to drag deer through the woods with a riding mower. Priceless.
We were just talking about hunting and shooting guns down your place. I don’t even think you got a chance to use the bow i gave you to hunt with. I know that hunting this year you will be with us. Maybe you can push that big buck to me.
Well Joey, after the funeral I picked up my dirt bike and brought it home to work on and just sat and started cleaning it thinking of the fun times riding. I miss seeing you at church. I know that you are still there with us. I know there are a lot of people missing you. I wish we could talk as I have so many questions about Heaven. Please watch over your parents and family I know they are hurting and I pray for them daily. Well Bud I miss you but I know that I will see you again someday. Rest in Peace
